BIRTH FESTIVAL - HALSTEAD HOSPITAL - 6th JUNE 2009

On Saturday June 6th the Colne Valley Midwifery Group Practice is hosting a Birth Festival at its birthing centre at Halstead Hospital, Hedingham road Halstead, Essex. 

It is a day for pregnant couples and new families to experience what is on offer in the area. Throughout the day there will be practitioners running a series of taster workshops. In preparation for labour there will be HypnoBirthing, Birth Art sessions, Belly Painting, Yoga, Homeopathy for labour and the postnatal period, Acupuncture and Belly Dancing. For new families there are classes on baby massage and baby calming.

The workshops are free and will run every half hour from 10.30am throughout the day. There will also be . This can be an easy and fun way to explore the hopes and fears surrounding birth and parenthood. An exhibition area will allow families access and information to such organisations as the National Childbirth Trust, Doula services, Green Jelly Eco nappies and environmentally friendly products and Water birth information as well as a pool set up.

A man crèche is available exclusively for the men! A quiet area set aside for coffee, cake and Top-Gear magazine! On a serious note there will also be valuable information on how to support your partner in labour, new parent information and access to a midwife for men only questions.

The day is free and parking is easy and also free. Doors open at 10am-4pm. Refreshment and homemade cake are available all day. A great opportunity to meet the midwives and explore the wide variety of choice available surrounding childbirth and parenting.

A 2.5hr session taught by two experienced HypnoBirthing practitioners and HypnoBirthing mums - having taught some 300 couples between them locally. Thursday 25th June 2009 7-9:30pm Bishops Park Community Centre (next to Tesco), Bishops Stortford, Herts.

CAMBRIDGE BABY SHOW - OCTOBER 11th 2009

Sunday 11th October 2009 sees the return of a unique exhibition for Cambridge. Cambridge NCT will be hosting another Baby Show designed especially for pregnant woman, their partners and parents of children aged 0-3 years.

Sawston Sports Centre, Cambridge, CB22 3BP will be our host for this years Baby Show. Due to our success last time, we are opening for the extended hours of 10am-4pm.

Come along to the Saffron Walden Natural Family Health Stall and say Hi to Sarah Ockwell-Smith.
